(too old to reply)

I bought a Dell computer with Vista a while ago and my old HP PSC 2210 won't
print from it. It's connected with the computer but when I try and print
something it won't. It will just say printing but then it just cancels itself
and won't print at all. I've tried everything. Even tried installing the
software but that doesn't help.

Did you go to HP's web site to see if they had a Vista-specific driver?
I have a 3015...they have a Vista driver for it but it looks like HP has
no desire to update their "toolbox" software. Very annoying.

It says this.

The driver solution for this product is included in your Windows Vista
operating system and is already on your computer. There is no need to
download anything.

And did you follow HP's installation instructions correctly?

Then I would first ensure the printer is still functional...try it on
another PC. If the printer is OK, uninstall the printer from your Vista
PC and re-install it.

It works perfectly on another PC that also runs Windows Vista?

Are you sure the USB ports on your PC (where it won't work) are all
functioning correctly?

Did you try another USB cable?

I have an Epson Stylus C66 which is behaving in a similar manner. I am
running Vista Ultimate 32 bit. When using Photo Gallery a photo sent to print
shows the correct animation and is shown in the printer queue and is defined
as printing. However the printer only starts after I click Restart. It
continues to print until the print queue is complete but it will not accept a
direct print command.
